Africa’s Role in Global Energy Supply and Local Development

This week, The Energy Council partnered with Olaniwun Ajayi (UK) LLP to host a breakfast meeting, focusing on Africa’s pivotal role in the global energy landscape based on increasing global gas demand. The discussion also covered the Ukraine invasion and the need for domestic gas commercialization.

Dr. Gabriel A. Onagoruwa, our Partner and Chair of Finance and Project Development, expertly moderated a panel featuring senior executives from BP, Aradel Holdings, Afentra, Tullow Oil, and SLB. Adegbite Falade, CEO of Aradel Holdings, delivered the keynote address.

Highlighting the upward trajectory of Africa’s energy sector, the event stressed the need to prioritize both bankability and de-carbonization concerns for attracting foreign investment.
