Coordinating Nigeria’s Virtual Asset Regulation

On 17 July 2026, President Tinubu signed the Presidential Executive Order on Virtual Assets Coordination, with the objectives of harmonising the regulation of virtual assets, strengthening cooperation among relevant regulatory authorities, protecting citizens from fraud caused by gaps in the regulatory framework, among others.
