What our summary covers

The full Report runs to considerable length. Consequently, many readers never work through it.
Our piece summarises the Report so that readers can stay current on developments in the sector without reading it end to end. It follows the Report’s own structure, beginning with the state of electricity generation.
That section sets out the number of grid-connected plants, average available capacity, average hourly generation and average quarterly output. Together, those figures show how the generation side performed across the quarter.

Why the quarterly reports matter

The reports offer one of the clearest public views of how the sector is actually performing. Investors, operators and advisers all draw on them.
Moreover, the data provides a consistent basis for tracking change from quarter to quarter. Our summary is designed to make that tracking straightforward.
