OALP Dispute Resolution Practice Quarterly Newsletter – 2nd Quarter 2024

In the second quarter of this year, Nigeria and progressive jurisdictions saw significant legal advancements. Nigeria’s appellate courtrooms were centres of radical changes in legal principles. Recent decisions covered crime and investigation, commerce and trademark registration, contract and jurisdictional limitation, and civil trial and claims substantiation. The Justices rendered clear verdicts and offered hints on future decisions.

Meanwhile, in response to rising cybercrimes, federal lawmakers amended the Cybercrimes Act. In other jurisdictions, legal boundaries were similarly challenged.

In this Quarterly Newsletter, we analyze these developments. We hope you find it an exciting read, as always.
